Marketing and PR are different — here’s why you need both

Question: What’s one of the reasons why you need both marketing and PR?
Answer: ‘Marketing targets the middle and bottom of the funnel; PR targets the top.’

“Marketing is content used to advertise your product offerings on paid media platforms. PR is content about a certain subject that’s meant to garner sentiment, and it’s usually earned rather than paid. It’s important to have both so you can move leads down the funnel: PR focuses on the top of the funnel, while marketing can be more targeted to the middle and bottom of the funnel.
